This playful and cozy kitchen, designed by Heidi Caillier Design for her own home in San Francisco, features a mix of designs from our P-3 | Large Flowers, P-7.1 | Small Flowers, P-8 | Small Scenes and P-17 | Springers. All tiles are hand-painted in a warm manganese colour on our Claes Mix, a combination of six different base shades that creates subtle variation throughout the installation.

The decorated tiles are mixed with our plain white tiles and placed randomly across the tiled walls, allowing each little scene, flower and figure to stand out in its own way. Some are grouped closely together while others appear between larger areas of plain white, giving the installation a relaxed and collected feel.

We especially love how the tiles have been used throughout the kitchen, wrapping around the cooking area and continuing along the surrounding walls. Together with the warm colours, patterns and materials used throughout the room, the manganese decoration feels right at home and adds another layer of character to an already beautifully detailed interior.

This project is a great example of how several of our series can be combined within one installation. Mixing different subjects and designs creates a playful surface with plenty of variety and something new to discover every time you look at the kitchen.
