Poarte – I is one of the most dynamic shades in our collection, blending greyish, blueish, and subtle brownish tones. This unique combination reflects the natural variations found in reclaimed antique Delft tiles, giving Poarte – I a rich, layered character. Its versatility makes it a striking choice for adding depth and warmth to any space, whether used alone or within one of our arranged mixes.
Poarte – I is part of the following arranged mixes: Blue Mix and the All-in Mix. Its multifaceted tones make it ideal for creating vibrant and visually engaging interiors while maintaining the timeless appeal of Delft craftsmanship.
Pinholes in the corners; Pinholes recreate an essential detail of historic Delft tile production. Before 1860, tiles were cut from clay beneath a wooden board stabilized by pins, leaving corner indentations. We replicate this process by adding two pinholes to each tile, preserving the authentic, imperfect charm that defines original Delft tiles.
Crackled finish; The fine surface cracks, or crazing, that develop on antique Delft tiles over time can be replicated through our crackled finish. This enhancement enhances the depth and aged appearance of the tiles, adding warmth and texture. For those who prefer a sleeker, more modern aesthetic, the crackled finish can be excluded.
