P-36 series – Flower vase
Our P-36 series is inspired by one of the most iconic Delft tile designs from the early 17th century: the classic flower vase motif. The tiles are painted in soft polychrome tones and finished with a colourful variation of the Fleur-de-Lis corner motif. The photos show the series on our Warm Mix base, enhanced with pinholes and a crackled glaze. This is our standard setup, but we’re happy to adjust the base, tone, or finish to suit your project.
1 unique design
This reproduction set is based on original Delft tile designs from the first half of the 17th century, featuring the classic flower vase motif. Tiles like these were always very popular and appeared in many variations. The use of multiple colors, including blue, green, and orange, reflects the influence of Italian maiolica and the adaptation of Chinese porcelain aesthetics, which were highly sought after during this period. When arranged together, the tiles form a bold, rhythmic composition that feels both historic and full of personality. Since every tile is painted by hand, subtle differences in shading and brushwork give each one a unique, artistic quality.
Pinholes in the corners
Before 1860, tile makers used wooden boards with small pins to steady the clay while shaping it, which left pinholes in the surface. Today, we replicate this traditional detail by including two pinholes per tile. As a result, the tiles retain the handcrafted, slightly imperfect charm that defines historic Delft tilework.
Crackled finish
Over time, Delft tiles naturally develop a fine web of surface cracks, known as crazing, which many see as a sign of age and character. To help recreate that aged appearance, we offer a crackled finish as an optional enhancement. While some prefer a cleaner look, this finish adds warmth, depth, and an unmistakably antique feel that suits this series beautifully.

Product disclaimer
We use traditional techniques to make our Delft tiles, and up to five artists may contribute to the painting process. Because of this, slight variations in size, color, and detail are to be expected, and celebrated. Although we don’t offer machine-like perfection, we do uphold a high standard of craftsmanship. These tiles are built to last and will continue to age gracefully for decades, or even centuries, to come.
